I offer consultancy on Arab and Islamic culture, specialising in sectarianism and the historical roots of Islamic thought and ideologies, as evidenced in Islamic State, for example. I focus particularly on the relevance of historical motifs and precedents to the local environment, and factors that might contribute to the path of radicalization. This includes assessing the influence of textual interpretations on the behaviour of groups or individuals.
